Cake Poker

Cake Poker is one of the newer rooms to enter the market. They recently merged to the Cake Network in early 2007 and since this time have been developing a strong player base through the multiple rooms and skins within the network. The company was originally built for poker players by poker players and have kept this initiative strong by offering innovative and unique concepts to not only make the games offered fun but reward players with a real loyalty program. This program gives players Gold Cards for playing in ring games and is just as valuable as cash.
Cake Poker offers all new players a 100% match up to $500 using our Cake Poker bonus here. Players will be credited their Cake bonus once they have earned enough comp points through tournament and ring game play. Bonuses will be released in increments of $10 and you will also receive re-loads from time to time. Players will also notice that comp points will earn you gold chips. These gold chips can be used for special freeroll tournaments as well as to purchase something in the Cake Shop. Another benefit Cake Poker has implemented is the Gold Cards. These are given out during real money ring games randomly. Players are not determined which means you can earn one twice in a row. These Gold Cards are just as valuable as cash and can be redeemed for such by collecting certain combinations or if you collect an entire series you will find yourself being rewarded with $52,000.
Ring games are supported in your standard varieties with Texas Holdem dominating the player base. You can still find ample games in Omaha however Stud and 5 games are pretty much nonexistent during off peak hours. Cake Poker ring games are available in micro limits starting at $0.10/$0.20 and escalating up to $100/$200. There are not many high stakes games but you can still find enough action at the $10/$20 NL tables. Cake is still a new poker room and traffic can be low key at times but they are seeing an increase in players. You can expect an average of 1,000 players during off peak hours.
Tournaments are available any time throughout the day with Cake Poker offering some decent guaranteed payments especially considering they are still a young poker room. They host a weekly $100,000 GP which is available by buying in directly or through qualifiers and satellites. The newest and most exciting tournaments they are featuring are the $1 Million Dollar Freeroll. Cake is literally giving away a million dollars divided up into 10 tournaments, with one game played each month. Each of these games will hold a guaranteed payment of $100,000 and the winner in these games will be walking away with a first place prize of $75,000. Sit N Go’s are well populated and do fill up at a decent rate. Cake Poker supports games in the standard Texas Holdem, Omaha with game structure available in heads up, shoot-outs, shorthanded, full ring and multi-table.

The software at Cake Poker offers great playability, an easy to use interface and does not have any of the fancy tolls and features that will delay your computer. The lobby is well designed with clear graphics, an easy to navigate menu. The lobby will provide you with your standard statistics like average pot size, hands per hour, and viewed flop percentages. They also have an extra window that reminds you of upcoming events or tournaments that are starting and how many players are registered. This is great for finding those special overlays, moments before the game starts. Your tables are designed for speed and stability and the software is updated on a consistent basis. The only disappointment with Cake Poker and the software they have developed is the actual table graphics, for a new room the graphics seem to be outdated compared to others. Other than that there are no major issues within the poker room.
Cake Poker support is fast, efficient and deal with all their customers on a personal level. Average response time is 30 min and the support team can be contacted via email 24/7.
Deposit and withdraw methods are limited thus far. The company keeps updating new financial processors. They do accept US players and most US players have no difficulties with using the credit card option. Withdraws can take up to 48 for processing. The current methods available include NetTeller, EPassport, Visa and Mastercard, and Moneybookers.
