Overview: PKR was the worlds first fully 3D poker site. Since launching in Summer 2006, PKR has really advanced in the poker industry, becoming a favourite among casual European players. Games: At PKR you will find Hold’em, Omaha and Omaha H/L. You can play Hold’em in all normal variates of No Limit, Pot Limit and Fixed Limit, where Omaha is available in Pot Limit and Fixed Limit. The cash tables range from the micro limits, $0.01/0.02, to the higher stakes, $100/200. There are full, shorthanded and heads up tables available in all games. PKR are also looking to add 7 Card Stud and 5 Card Draw to their software, which would give players a bigger selection.
The number of tournaments running was a major downfall to PKR at launch, but now they have a commendable amount of tournaments running each day. Buy-ins range from $1+10, excluding freerolls, to $500+30. They have games suitable for all players and their bankroll, so there is no need to worry about finding a tournament to play at PKR.
Software: PKR has the most advanced poker software in the poker industry. No other poker site allows players to fully customize their player avatar, down to every last detail including headphones. Players can buy new items for their characters by earning points from playing poker! The visuals at PKR are second to none and you will not find a more attractive site on the net. The only downside to PKR’s great software is the speed of play. With all factors considered, players can do so much more then just play poker, so the speed of their actions are reduced. Also it is hard to multi table using the software as it takes up a lot of computer resources.
Players: As we mentioned above, PKR is highly populated by casual European players. This means they have come to the site to have some fun, not to grind a profit. After you have played at the site, you will realise why there is such a low volume of serious poker players there, because you will not make as much money as you would at another site. This is because there are less hands per hour dealt, and you cannot multi table as many games. However, you will find soft tables at pretty much all limits, meaning there is still a huge profit to be made.
Bonuses: PKR allows players to choose which bonus they would like, depending on the amount of time they spend playing poker. If you play a high volume number of hands, the bigger bonuses may suit you. However if you only play a low number of hands a month, it would be silly to apply for the big bonus.
